The states of Mexico are administrative territorial units of the first level of the country of Mexico, which is officially named the United Mexican States.

There are 31 states in Mexico. These states are further divided into municipalities.

In some northern states like Chihuahua and Monterrey, it is very hot in summer and very cold in winter.

Every first sunday in april to the last sunday in october most of the countries are in summer time, in order to take advantage of sunlight in the evening and save electricity. For this purpose, clocks are moved by an hour forward. It is interesting to note that the only state in Mexico were time never change is Sonora.
